Cherry Valley Sewer District
Cherry Valley Sewer District (CVSD) is one of seven districts that contribute wastewater to the Upper Blackstone Water Pollution Abatement District (UBWPAD). As with many communities, infiltration/inflow (I/I), or extraneous water, is a growing concern within older sewer collection system infrastructures and can significantly decrease the available capacity of wastewater treatment facilities over time. One of the requirements of the UBWPAD is that each contributing District must prepare a five year infiltration and inflow (I/I) control plan to minimize the amount of I/I within contributing collection systems. In February 2009, Tata & Howard prepared a proposed I/I control plan to assist CVSD in locating potential sources of I/I over the next five years. Upon completion of the investigations, Tata & Howard will prepare a detailed report summarizing the sources of I/I and provide a prioritized list of recommendations for repair and rehabilitation of the collection system.
