Deaconess Water Treatment Facility – Concord, Massachusetts
The project consisted of a pilot test evaluation at the Brewster Well, Deaconess Well and White Pond Well to identify and evaluate the effectiveness of different treatment technologies.
The study proposed the evaluation of conventional manganese greensand filtration versus a similar pressure filtration utilizing a pyrolucite media identified as “LayneOx”. Tata & Howard provided design and construction services for a one million gallon per day (mgd) capacity water treatment facility for the removal of iron and manganese utilizing the LayneOx technology.
