Tata & Howard’s work included the permitting and design of a 300,000 gpd onsite wastewater treatment facility utilizing a membrane bioreactor (MBR) treatment process to serve Legacy Farms, a proposed mixed use development in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. The treatment facility includes removal of organic material and solids using membrane filtration, combined with nutrient removal and disinfection by ultraviolet light. A portion of the high quality effluent from this treatment process will be used for drip irrigation on site. The project is about to proceed to the construction phase. The anticipated construction cost of the MBR treatment facility and the disposal areas is $5.2 million dollars.
