Hydraulic Modeling/Master Plans
Spencer, MA
Tata & Howard provided hydraulic evaluation services for the Town of Spencer, Massachusetts for the selection of a new location for a water storage tank. The purpose of this project was to separate the current single zone system, with pressures exceeding 200 psi in some locations, into two pressure zones as required by an Administrative Consent Order from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP). Tata & Howard verified the Town’s hydraulic model, which was used to select different locations for the new tank and to determine the required sizing needed for new water transmission mains. The model was also used to determine the boundary divide between the two pressure zones and where isolation valves were required. This project is currently under construction and is being funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act through the Massachusetts State Revolving Fund (SRF).
