Spencer, Massachusetts – Two Zone Pressure System
Due to significant elevation changes from the east side of the distribution system to the west, system pressures ranged from 30 psi to over 200 psi. Tata & Howard provided hydraulic modeling services to locate five sites for a new low service area water storage tank, a service area booster pump station, and isolation valves. Additionally, the hydraulic model was used to determine the potential impact to static pressures and fire flows after the completion of the water storage tank project. After the preliminary design was completed and a site for the tank was selected, we provided design services for the Town of Spencer for a two chambered, cast-in-place water storage tank. This project is currently under construction and is being funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act through the Massachusetts State Revolving Fund (SRF).
