Job Description

Tata & Howard has an opportunity for entry-level Civil and/or Environmental Engineers with a strong interest in municipal water and / or wastewater design.  Experience with AutoCAD a plus.  Responsibilities include project design, site investigations and surveys, analysis of data, interaction with clients, and developing engineering reports, models, and calculations related to the design of water / wastewater and stormwater collection / distribution systems. Additional responsibilities include developing familiarity with government, client, and industry local codes, regulations, and standards; health and safety requirements; and environmental concerns.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications include Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Successful candidates will be adept at applying engineering principles to develop effective solutions, and must possess strong technical and business writing skills.
  • Ideal candidates should have some experience with design and development of water and / or wastewater engineering solutions, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Candidates must be able to work well independently and in teams.

Project Accountant — Marlborough, MA

Tata & Howard is a 100% Employee-Owned consulting engineering firm specializing in municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater engineering projects throughout New England. We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our finance team and provide direct support to our CFO, Co-President, and Project Managers. The company has recently migrated to a new ERP system, Deltek Vantagepoint, and we are looking for a candidate who will fully engage themselves and learn this system. No previous experience with Vantagepoint is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, preferred
  • 5 years accounting experience, preferably in consulting or construction
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Adherence to company accounting processes and procedures
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with staff at various levels across multiple offices
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint ERP system a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare client invoices
  • Assist project managers with managing the budget and forecasting process of projects
  • Review project performance in consultation with management
  • Resolve discrepancies on invoices and financial reports
  • Prepare special financial reports and ad hoc accounting projects
  • Automate invoicing using Vantagepoint
  • Assists in the development of reports and provides summaries and feedback to management
  • Gains efficiency by utilizing all areas and functions of the ERP
  • Documents and develops technical process manuals and trains staff on an ongoing basis
  • Trains engineering staff on Vantagepoint

Salary – $70,000 – $85,000

The successful candidate will have a proven record of meeting project deadlines and budgets. Other responsibilities include mentoring and training junior engineers, coordinating / participating in the preparation of plans and specifications, technical report writing, and documenting project activities, findings, and recommendations, with limited supervision. The candidate must be a self-starter with a solid understanding of the consulting engineering industry. Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint project management system a plus.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a proven record of meeting project deadlines and budgets.  Other responsibilities include mentoring and training junior engineers, coordinating / participating in the preparation of plans and specifications, technical report writing, and documenting project activities, findings, and recommendations, with limited supervision. This position will also have business development responsibilities including lead identification, prospect meetings, and participation in proposals as appropriate.  The candidate must be a self-starter with a solid understanding of the consulting engineering industry.
